HOW WE DO IT
OPTIM Talent is dedicated to finding, developing and mentoring young actors who are interested in film, TV, theatre, commercials, voice work and musicals.
To be considered for representation you must fit the below criteria:
MUST be 5 - 18yrs of age and reside in Cape Town and surrounds.
We do not sign new talent 18yrs and older who do not have extensive experience in the industry already.If you are no longer a teenager then we will not sign you as our focus is on kids and teens.
Email must include:
1. A clear recent photograph and motivation.
2. An audition video clip - Please introduce yourself and tell us about any acting experience you have, if any, and what your interests are.
3. Short acting piece - for our little kids younger than 10yrs this can be a poem otherwise we want to see a short monologue of about 1 minute in length.
After we have received all the footage we will decide whether or not to set up an in-person interview. If you do not hear back from us within 2 days, consider your application unsuccessful.
If we are interested we will we set up an interview to meet you in person.

ABOUT CAROLYN
Carolyn Lewis's experience in the industry from acting, directing, script writing, casting commercials and top feature films places her in the perfect position to understand all aspects of the industry and therefore help nurture young talent.
“I am passionate about acting and developing kids into solid actors who understand the differences between delivering a performance for Film/TV and commercials. ”
Carolyn has a Performers Diploma in Speech & Drama from UCT. She is a founder and active member of Improguise Players of Theatre Sports, which has been running in Cape Towns for over 20 years. She has acted for stage, TV, Film and numerous international commercials.
As Actor she has worked on Scandel, Egoli, Binnelanders, Winnie Mandela, I Shouldn't be Alive - Blood in the Water, SOS, Angel Song, Jozi H, Goddess of Song to name a few. She is an active member of Improguise Players of Theatre Sports.
As Casting Director she has worked for Kayos, The Casting Studio, Traffik Studio's and the late Michelle Less.
As Cast Co-ordinator she has worked on the following feature films:
District 9, A Million Colours and Winnie Mandela.
As Theatre Director she has directed a number of Puppetry Programmes and Aids Awareness Programmes for AREPP Theatre for Life and has directed Industrial Theatre shows for Mars SA, Investec and Anglo Coal.
As Writer she has had 2 radio plays produced by SAFM and has written TV scripts for Thabang Thabong on SABC 1. She has also written numerous industrial theatre scripts and her short story, The Treasure Tree, was published in a collection of stories for kids called Metz & Bop.
